Georgie Porgie pudding and pie, Kissed the girls and made them cry When the boys came out to play, Georgie Porgie ran away.

Conversely to Georgie Porgie, George never made the ladies cry but laugh. He could not run away from boys as he was hardly in their company during the day. But do not worry these pages are not about George’s promiscuity. He was simply one of these few rare happy men who followed their wives’ careers willingly. George was a househusband.

The first time I met him, it was in Budapest at one of these pot-luck parties. (…) “Hello, I’m George. I’ve got a lot of free time but I’m not free.” He got interrupted by some guffaws. “Some of you already know my wife and I’m sure they’ve been sent to keep an eye on me.” (…)

Actually each country I have been to had its George.

I had been acquainted with a George changing his baby’s nappies in Seoul, for instance. (…)
